Celebrating Community Champions: Spotlight on Shelly Greenhaw,  Oklahoma Family Network and Cardio-Facio-Cutaneous International

At Scissortail Orthodontics, we’re dedicated to serving the very communities that have supported us. From sponsoring local events and athletic and academic teams to partnering with great causes, our idea of success is directly tied to improving our patients’ lives both in our office and in the community. Join us as we put a spotlight on Shelly Greenhaw, a remarkable member of our community, and the causes she passionately supports.

Shelly Greenhaw is a dedicated advocate and community leader, deeply involved in supporting families of children with special health care needs. Alongside her husband Coby, Shelly co-founded the Kinley Klassic and Kami Too in 2014. This annual event aims to raise awareness and funds for the Oklahoma Family Network and Cardio-Facio-Cutaneous International, organizations that have provided significant support to her own family.

As a mother of two adult daughters with Cardio-Facio-Cutaneous Syndrome and Clark-Baraitser Syndrome, Shelly’s personal experiences have driven her commitment to these causes. She has served on the Board of Directors for both organizations and is currently focusing on assisting her daughters’ transitions to adulthood, participating in the Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma, and supporting other families in similar situations.

Her key responsibilities for the Kinley Klassic and Kami Too include organizing the event, securing sponsorships, managing participants, and coordinating with volunteers. Shelly emphasizes the importance of community involvement and the emotional, social, physical, and financial challenges faced by families of children with special needs.

Shelly’s dedication extends to raising public awareness through social media, organizational web pages, and local community engagement. A notable achievement is her involvement in the annual “Joining Forces: Supporting Family-Professional Partnerships Conference,” which brings together leaders to discuss best practices for supporting individuals with special health care needs and their families.

Shelly identifies funding and resource limitations as significant challenges for these organizations, underscoring the need for sustainable growth to continue providing hope and opportunities for a good life for affected families.

Please help us by supporting Shelly through  Oklahoma Family Network and Cardio-Facio-Cutaneous International.  The Kinley Klassic and Kami Too is an amazing golf tournament held every year, and is a fun way to give back to our community.  You will see Dr. Kierl there every year- probably in a sand trap.  Please take a look at the links below for more information on how you can give your support.
